About

Gordene O. MacKenzie [bio] is the author of Transgender Nation (1994), a book that helped usher in a new movement.  For many years she chaired the Women’s and Gender Studies Department at Merrimack College.  She co-founded the Social Justice department, and founded, with Nancy, the Mary Nangeroni Social Justice Award at Merrimack.  She now makes some of the most fabulous jewelry in Albuquerque.

Nancy Nangeroni [bio], an MIT-degreed engineer, came out as transgender in 1990.  She’s been working on behalf of transgender welfare, rights and respect ever since.  Now she’s writing about how she worked her way out of a deep closet to help lead an emerging transgender movement into worldwide acceptance.

Together, Nancy & Gordene created GenderTalk and GenderVision.

We met in early 1998.  Over the course of that year, we laid the foundation for a partnership that began on December 25 of that year and flourishes today.

In August of 2016, we moved to Los Ranchos de Albuquerque in New Mexico to begin a new phase of our lives.  We’re excited to be here and looking forward to building further on our knowledge, experience and interests.
